Emma has been a professional writer more than half her life, first seeing her name in print in the NME at the age of 17, when she began reviewing gigs in her hometown of Manchester.

She moved to London after completing a BA in English Literature at the University of Sheffield, to write for Select magazine. She then took an MA in Film: Culture & Industry at the University of Westminster, after which she switched to writing about movies for Total Film and ELLE.

A graduate of the Creative Writing MA in Playwriting & Screenwriting at City, University of London,  she was selected for the London Screenwriters’ Festival’s inaugural Talent Campus, supported by Creative Skillset, and mentored by 4Screenwriting guru Philip Shelley.
